Indesign is moving

Since upgrading to 19.0 on Mac OS Ventura, if I work in Indesign, then leave it open in the background to work in another app, or let the computer go to sleep, I come back to find Indesign's application frame has moved. It moves downwards vertically, about half the screen height, so the base of the application frame is well below the bottom of the screen.

One of those weird things that seems to happen every year when Adobe auto updates...

    Are you using an external monitor? I'm having a similar issue ever since I'm using a Mac Studio with an external Dell monitor. I think this is a well-known issue in general as many users reported this.

     

    I have this issue with both InDesign 2023 and 2024. I also have this issue only after the computer goes to sleep.

     

    I don't use Application Frame so in my case only the document window moves downwards. Regardless, in both cases clicking the green button should restore the original position (as you may know anyway).

      That's very close to what I'm getting. Also a Mac Studio, mine is with a Lenovo monitor. But I didn't get the behaviour with Indesign 2023. And yes, it does seem connected to the machine going to sleep mode.

      It happens to me too all the time, until I deactivate Rectangle app to maximize windows app through shortcut.

        Turn off autoupdates

        Rollback to a previous InDeisgn version

        Rolling back is not an option. I already have business critical files in Indesign 24 (V19.0). They would not be compatible without saving out as IDMLs which I don't fancy checking in detail afterwards.

        I hadn't seen that Uservoice link before. Will try that, but I feel it was worth pointing the issue out here as others will experience similar

        One of the many reasons I have auto update off. And I don't update to new version for months.
