Indesign keeps crashing

I am trying to use Indesign 2024 and it keeps freezing. I need to force close it in windows task manager. I am not sure if it has to do with my vpn as I don't seem to run into this as much as when I am in the office. Any thoughts?

Hello All,

I am running Windows 10 Enterprise, version 22H2, OS build 19045.3570, Installed RAM 15.7 usable, processor 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1185G7 @ 3.00GHz 3.00 GHz.

This was an upgrade to a previous install so I uninstalled and reinstalled the newest version (2024) with the same results. I then installed the previous version (2023) and haven't had an issue since.

Turn off the VPN and try it again, or, are you saying you're actually logged into the office and working on InDesign remotely. If that's the case, I would expect issues.

BTW, Windows is hardly anything for us to go on. Which version and exact build? How much memory do you have? Processor?

If OP is working 100% remotely through VPN - OP's computer is just a terminal - no problem with that.

Is a new / fresh installation or update over an older version?

Try to trash Preferences - hold Ctrl+Alt+Shift right after you click on the InDesign's icon.
