InDesign Keeps Crashing Upon Opening

Hey Folks-

I'm having a devil of a time opening InDesign.

MAC 10.14.3

InDesign -Latest Install

It started happening before my MAC OS update, so I updated the OS and it continues to happen.

Help!

I have had the exact same problem. I sent my laptop away as I thought it might have been the problem. I downloaded indesign on the work Mac and it started doing the exact same thing. It’s like my whole computer is now not compatible with indesign.

Hi Paige,

We have released an update for InDesign CC2019 (v 14.0.2) which contains some stability fixes. If you are not already on 14.0.2, then we recommend you to update to latest version.

If you still face this issue even after updating, please share the following details:

  • Submit the crash report to us(Guidelines to submit crash are available at https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html)
  • Reproducible Steps – What were you doing when InDesign crashed?
  • Error snapshot or video recording of the issue.
  • Is the issue related to a specific document(s)/asset(s)? If yes, can you please share the document(s)/asset(s) with us?
  • Does resetting InDesign preferences (Set preferences in Adobe InDesign ) help resolve the issue? Resetting preferences will remove all the custom settings and InDesign will launch with default settings. You can also take a backup of the folders in case you want to. Location is mentioned in the article.

I've been having the same issue. Clearing preferences, uninstalling and reinstalling, logging in and out doesn't seem to work at all. Incredibly frustrating. Anyone else had any luck?

It seems to be a new issue, did you install or update anything prior to this?

Have you purged your preferences? scroll down to Restore all preferences in Set preferences in Adobe InDesign

Does the crash report indicate any point of cause for this?
