InDesign keeps crashing when mounting a picture

You say that you changed your computer with no luck but that your coworkers with their computers had no problem. Could you please explain what you mean by changing your computer? If you mean that you tried another computer with the same problem then it doesn’t exactly make sense that coworkers with other computers would not have the problem. Could you please clarify?

Disable Generative AI options in Preferences. Will it solve the issue?

Could you please confirm your InDesign version and OS version? Also, as the expert mentioned, please let us know whether the images are stored locally or on a network/cloud location.

When you say, “mounting a picture”, do you mean placing an image using File > Place (Ctrl/Cmd+D)? If so, please create a new blank document and try placing a simple JPG/PNG saved locally on your computer. 

If InDesign still crashes, please let us know whether the Adobe Crash Reporter appears. If it does, please submit the crash report with the steps to reproduce the issue and share the crash details with us so we can investigate further. Please also make sure you're running the latest available version of InDesign (21.6) and test again.

If you have any third-party plug-ins installed, please temporarily disable them and check whether the crash still occurs, as incompatible plug-ins can cause crashes.

By mounting you mean the image is on a network drive? If so probably this could be due to your network connection to that drive. If possible copy the file to a local drive and then use it
