InDesign making error sound when I try to use a colour swatch

InDesign is making an error sound when I try to use a colour swatch and won't let me change the colour for a fill or stroke line. The object tends to move slightly when I click on it too. Not sure how to fix these things as they never happened before!

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, restarting my computer, and deleting my preferences.
