Indesign - non existing links / 'ghost' links (?)

In my Indesign document I see that some links are used for a third time. But doesn't have pagenumber where I can find/see the actual picture. I can't replace that picture for something else. Also I can't approach the picture. So it almost looks like some sort of ghost-link.

Is there a way to clean the Indesign-file?

Correct answer Eugene Tyson

If a document is not behaving well then try

File>Export

Choose IDML

Open the IDML in InDesign
Save the file as a new InDesign file with a new name
See if the issue persists.

Embed the image for the instance without the page number.

Then unembed the image - and select to not relink it (or relink it if you wish) - and see if the page number comes up.

Hi there Eugene,
Enbedded the link and tried to relink it. But when I try to relink it nothing happens. It can't be relinked to any file.
When I unembded the file it just pops again just as it was. I link without a pagenumber.
