InDesign not closing

Lately since the the most recent Indesign update, I've been having a lot of trouble getting the application to actually close. I can still click everything else and run files and make edits etc, but when I want to close the application nothing happens. I also turned on "Reset preferences on quit" but that didn't really help. Anyone know how to fix this?

what's your operating system version and also the exact InDesign version? what methods do you use to quit the app?

I recently updated my Indesign because it kept prompting me to. I think the version is 20.5.1 or 21.0. I tried to click the X to close it but it wouldn't budge. Then I tried to right click it from the taskbar and clicked "close window" but there was no prompt to force close it.

and what's your Windows version? to check your InDesign version, use the About InDesign menu (at least on Mac, not sure it's the same on Windows). in any case, I'm sure Windows users here will provide additional feedback soon.
