InDesign NOT opening at all

Hi there! I've downloaded and installed a couple of versions of InDesign on my laptop, but none of them seem to open.

I'm using an Asus Tuf Gaming laptop with the Windows 11 operating system.

The program is present, but when I click on it to open, nothing happens.

Today, I tried running it in "Safe Mode," and it opened and worked flawlessly. However, when I switch back to the normal mode of my system, it stops working again.

Please help.

The latest versions of InDesign (such as 18.5) seem to have some "ET phone home" code due to the upcoming implementation of cloud-based file saving. And if your internet connection is not topnotch, then that code will freeze. Reverting back to 18.4 seems to have solved the problem for those users here who experienced the problem.

It seems that is a performance issue I guess! I just discovered that I also can open it when the laptop is unplugged!

I also use the 18.1 version
