Trying to open this PNG in illustrator to edit. It keeps opening in Photoshop instead.

Window settings are set to auto open PNGs in Photos app so not sure why its doing this.

If you want to work with the PNG in AI, I find that placing works better.

However, it worked fine on my system. Try resetting your InDesign preferences.

The point is that InDesign isn't opening the file in illustrator that I'm trying to edit. Its a feature and it doesn't work properly.

I already reset my settings last week due to another CC error happening when the menu wouldn't open the correct recent file. It was selecting another file in my recent list that was a few lines above it. Doubt its that.

Did resetting your prefs work? Then try it aging. Also, try deleting your caches.

Also, I'm not sure it it has anything to do with it, but check your file associations in Adobe Bridge.

I think that's going to be more of an operating system thing than an InDesign thing, but I'm curious, why would you want to open a PNG in Illustrator?
