Question

InDesign not selecting an object with the cursor (possible GPU issue)

Please can someone help?

In InDesign... the cursor does not immediately select an item until the mouse is moved away from the object. I think this may be a 'GPU Performance' issue but I cannot change the setting under Indesign > Preferences > GPU Performance > as it says 'Compatible GPU and Monitor not detected'.

The Mac Mini is only a few months old and was working fine until a couple of days ago. I'm using an Apple display and have tried on an older monitor but this doesn't fix the issue.

I have reset my InDesign preferences but this did nothing.

Can anyone help please as it's driving me mad!

I have just realised that everytime I close down and restart InDesign, the 'GPU Performance' is ghosted and says 'Compatible GPU and Display not detected'. I can reset this by changing the display settings (under system settings) to one of the resolutions with (HiDPI) next to it, but the resolution is too large for my screen so I have to revert to 1920x1200 and then the GPU becomes 'not compatible' again when I restart InDesign.

Hello @detailed_nature5749,

Thanks for reaching out. Could you try using the scaling options instead of changing the resolution under Display Settings and then relaunching InDesign to see if it helps?

Looking forward to hearing from you.
