InDesign - Opening Image Files

Hello,

I am new to InDesign and I am trying to import two images which need editing in order to make the quality 'high resolution'.

The images were a PNG file which wasn't being recognised by InDesign when clicking "Open"  so I converted the files to PDF and this either won't let me upload.

Can someone help in regards to what the image files need to be in order for me to upload?

Thank you

Alex Simms

You cannot open image files in InDesign, you must place them into the document. Additionally, InDesign is not an image editing application; for that you need Photoshop.

Finally, the is no way to turn a low resolution image into a high resolution image. That ability exists only on television crime dramas.

To add to Bob‘s excellent answer, you need to understand that InDesign is a professional application with a steep learning curve. People on this forum can help you with specific questions, but you probably should undertake some training if you want to continue. There’s personal training with colleges and training companies, books, such as the Classroom in a Book series and online video tutorials from Lynda.com (you can get 30-days free).
