InDesign Package Links Sorting

Hello!

I'm working with a catalogue with a large number of photos (links) in InDesign, that have been placed from many different folders/sources. I want to use the order in which they appear in the catalogue for other applications so I'm wondering if it's possible to package the InDesign file in a way that the order of appearance of the links in the document is somehow preserved?

Thank you!

What do you mean by "other applications"? "Different use" or "programs"?

It's possible - but it depends on HOW would you like to use those links.

We need more info.

If you need a ZIP with all those links - they would need to be "renamed".

Depends on how detailed this info would have to be - prefixes would have to be added.

Something like:

PageIdx_OriginalName.psd

PageIdx_PosX_OriginalName.psd - or PageIdx_PosY_OriginalName.psd

Page_IdxPosY_PosX_OriginalName.psd - or PageIdx_PosX_PosY_OriginalName.psd

Order of PosX / PosY depends on if you want your links to be organised in rows or in columns.

If you need only copies - original  names should remain intact - also not a problem.
