Indesign Page section only allowed eight character ?

In my document page having more than eight character prefix. How to handle this scenario?

myPage number example = 475.1-23.1-75

Pagno = 1

prefix : 475.1-23.1-75.1

Please advice. adobe needs to solve this issue.

That's the limit. Yes. You cannot do anything about it.
Other than to make a feature request and hope for the best.

Working around would be possible.
Change the contents of the page name on every page by scripting according to your rules.
But that's not flexible.
