Anyone else having trouble today (was fine yesterday...) with InDesign and printing to a .PS form the print menu? "Setup" menu options are no longer available as you can only select "Device Independent" on the second dropdown window on print screen (PPD)?

Why are you PRINTING to PDF/Postscript?

Avoid postscript as much as you can: No EPS, no printing to PDF/PS

Export to PDF. That is the correct way to go, as Postscript does not support transparency or color management. You are reducing quality and dismissing a lot of functionality in InDesign.

I agree with both @rob day and @Willi Adelberger

There are legitimate reasons to use this method. But it is generally considered an archaic/legacy workflow. Where I think it's there to support people that need it, perhaps good working order older machines that have not been replaced with more modern processes.

If any of the suggestions from Rob or Willi were correct can you mark them as correct - it's a huge help and helps others when looking for a similar solution.

Thanks

You are about to get a bunch of Export don’t Print responses—but to Save Postscript for Distiller you need the Adobe PDF 9.0 PPD. You can download from this helpx page:

I don't have the option to - Select Adobe PDF from the PPD list to resolve this issue. It has dissapeared!
