InDesign Preview Mode is not working properly

Help! See attached screen recordings and screenshot. This has been happening for a long time. Sometimes, when I go into, or out of, preview mode (by pressing "W"), I get really strange effects. I don't know what's causing it because it doesn't happen all the time and seems rando. Sometimes it will be resolved if I zoom in or out. Sometimes I have to just save my file and restart InDesign. Anybody know what's happening here? I'm on Mac OSX Sonoma and InDesign 2024. But, this has been happening for several versions of InDesign and in previous OS versions. Thanks!

I also have the same problem. Latest InDesign, latest update of Sonoma.

Furthermore, toggling between Preview and Normal mode shows different content. Normal mode seems to be pulling a cached version of the layout, while Preview shows the latest changes. It appears this bug has been present since at least 2020.

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing these issues with InDesign's Preview Mode. This sounds frustrating, especially since it disrupts your workflow.

A bug has been logged, and our product team is actively investigating the issue. Unfortunately, they haven't been able to reproduce the problem in-house, which is why it's taking longer than usual to resolve.
