Question

InDesign Print PDFs are printing at the wrong size

I'm using InDesign 2025, super new to this program in general so I'm sure this is user error but I can't find the answer to my question ANYWHERE. I have a set of pages I'm trying to print out at 6 in x 9 in, I've included crop marks so I know where to cut because naturally it has to be printed on 8.5 x 11 papers. I'm exporting them as "print" pdfs specifically, not interactive pdfs. For SOME reason, when I print them out, they are the wrong size even after accounting for the crop marks (around 6.75 in x 10 in???). As far as I can tell, something about my export settings is allowing the information to be re-scaled or something like that. Please, if anyone can help with this, it's been really frustrating trying to navigate this program.

What platform, OS and InDesign versions exactly?

If you're printing directly from InDesign - to what printer - try to export to PDF and then print this PDF from Acrobat.

I'm exporting from my Macbook, InDesign version 20.1.

Part of the problem is that I can't exactly print from my phone or computer directly. We have to use this app called Pharos that all the printers on campus are hooked up to, basically you upload your docs to the app and then you can scan your phone on the printer to access them for printing and stuff. Makes it a lot more difficult to to figure out if the printer itself is causing problems. TLDR, I can't print "from" any applications directly, it has to go through the app. That's why I'm trying to figure out what's wrong with my export setup.

Check your scale and fit settings in the Pharos print driver.

Since you can't bypass this app, the only other thing you can try is to try printing the PDF to a non-campus printer.
