Indesign slow and glitched when open

InDesign is taking ages to load, and when it does, the screen is totally glitched and zoomed into weird places. I have tried re-installing, deleting old preferences in case of corruption. Nothing seems to help. Has anyone experienced this and found a resolution?

That's the touch workspace. Looks like this was a first launch on that machine because the "tour" overlay appears active. Go through it and then click the word touch and choose essentials or advanced.
