InDesign stalls

InDesign stalls (spinning beachball) when I try to open ANY file.

I have seen in our posts to delete Preferences upon start-up by holding the Command key on MAC.

The dialog box that should show does not come up to remove Preferences.

So, I uninstalled the program and upon reinstalling I chose to NOT load previous Preferences.

I am assuming this does the same thing as described above.

The problem still persists.

No, you have to hold the Shift, Ctrl, Alt and Cmd keys and wait until you see an alert asking you to rest preferences.
