Indesign styles

Hi,

I have been using Indesign for a while now, mostly for layouts and brochures. I have not worked on an Annual Report type of massive document using styles in the last few years. I was wondering if there is any tutorial out there that covers styles extensively. I found some basic ones in youtube that teaches you to create paragraphy and Character style. I am looking for something that can go beyond the basics and cover tables and also showcase the new features that Indesgin 2023 offers to create a full-fledge Annual Report.

Thanks,

Vijay.

PS. I came across some Para style tutorials on Youtube, unfortunately these don't work in the Middle East version of Indesign that am currently using.

Nigel French has a LinkedIn Learning class on styles: everything covered is relevant in InDesign 2023.

If you want a course on advanced styles and new features in 2023 and a focus on long document layout all wrapped up in one course, you are looking at custom training.

The question can be put to you as to what exactly are you looking in extensive coverage of styles? I mean if you know the basics and have a know how of what styles are capable of I think you should be ready. I would suggest checkout the properties of styles yourself, you may discover thinks like Grep Styles, Nested Styles, etc which are not something obvious that one would associate with styles. Then you can dig deeper into areas that you think are interesting and would be a good use for your current assignment.

Unfortunately, what you are looking for is quite advanced tutorial that I'm afraid won't be available for free - and won't be a quick 5 minute "crash course"...
