Hi, im having an issue where my swatches panel is blank. There is nothing there at all.

I've reset my preference and also uninstalled and reinstalled inDesigns to no avail.

Can anyone help?

Correct answer Steve Werner

Usually resetting the preferences is the best answer. Please read through the article. There are two methods suggested—removing files and caches and using a keyboard shortcut. Try both methods.

Trash, Replace, Reset, or Restore the application Preferences

And, if those methods don't work, uninstall InDesign and install again.

Cannot believe this still isn't fixed, I lost my Swatches again today. Having to reset prefs and set all perferences again from scratch (the new export user settings is not 100% reliable) is a pain…

And just stumbled upon this thread: this worked for me again:-)

Hi Kate

Did you end up resolving this issue? I see the only answer you received was a suggestion to do what you had already done (helpful much?)

I am experiencing the same issue with InDesign CC 2018.

Thanks so much, Maddie

@Maddie,

Kate may or may not see your message because it's been so long.

Sometimes, people think they have reset their preferences, but they're not doing it fully or correctly. (For example, if you're using the Hold Down Modifier Keys method while launching InDesign, you need to see a confirming message if you didin't time it correctly.) That's why I provided the proper instructions.
