InDesign transparent pdf export

Does anyone know how I can stop my exported PDFs having transparent backgrounds. I did something a couple of weeks ago so I could export with transparent but I can't remember what I did and I really need it to go back to normal!

What is "normal"? Can you explain why do you need this?

Exported PDF was always with "transparent background".

Remember, never say you can't do something in InDesign, it's always just a question of finding the right workaround to get the job done. © David Blatner

Hi @Emily23001665wgf8 ,

if you really need an opaque background, for example a white one, add a layer to your InDesign document, move it to the bottom of the stack of layers and put a rectangle on it filled with white. Do that on all parent pages you are using in the document.

@BobLevine , an opaque white object in the background of the PDF page could be helpful if the PDF is rendered in PhotoShop for illustrative reasons.

Maybe, I would think it would be just as easy to add that in whatever application the PDF is being opened in.

Where are you seeing this behavior? PDFs do not have a background so they are be default transparent.

You will only see this when importing them into other programs if you choose that as a setting.
