I am constantly having to call our IT Department to fix an issue with even opening InDesign up. They say without Adobe making a “Patch” to fix the problem, we will continue to have these issues. Please, Adobe, fix my InDesign issue once and for all. I use it all day, every day for my job.

It will not load InDesign error message

Hi @dina_3642 , Do you mean you get an error when you try to launch ID, or when you try to open a document? Or is it happening when you try to edit a document? Have you tried the regular troubleshooting—deleting your caches and preferences?

I believe the current work-around is to reinstall the Visual C++ executables, which I think you already know.

Adobe is certainly aware of the problem, but there is no timetable for a fix that I know of.

Aside from this forum being a user-to-user vehicle, not Adobe tech support, per se, telling us what version of InDesign and your OS, as well as what the actual problem is, will get you a lot more help.

I am operating on Windows 11, 24H2, the problem has occurred with version 21.0 and later. It will not load InDesign error message.

Hi, thanks for the information @dina_3642

Could you let us know what troubleshooting steps your IT team has performed? Did you start experiencing this behavior after a Windows update or after updating InDesign?

This information might help us narrow down what’s happening.

Thanks,
Nikunj
