Indesign with XMPie specifying Dynamic Media Selection ...

Hi,

I need to use the Dynamic Media Selection option with our version of XMPie to select specific paper stock from our printer. It is my understanding this is possible as along as our printer has a Fiery Server and VIPP or Postscript access. However, my problem occurs before I even get to send it to the printer.

The issue I am having is that the Dynamic Media Selection is the same for each page I select. Whereas, I need them to be different.

According to my instuctions:

To achieve media selection with XMPie:

1.     Set  up the required media selections in the InDesign document.

2.     Create  the print file in a format which supports media selection.

3.     Load  the required paper stocks to the printer.

4.     Configure  your RIP and print queue to support the media selection calls.

5.     Submit  the print file.

The following sections describe these steps with a variety  of different production RIP and printer combinations.

Setting the media selection in InDesign

Static Media Selection

1.     Open the Pages  palette in InDesign, and select (by double-clicking) the spread or page  that you want to assign to a specific media. In the example below we are  setting the media for spread/page 2.

2.     In the fly-out menu on the Pages  palette, select Dynamic Media Selection.

3.     In the Dynamic  Media Selection dialog, select the Media  Type, Color or Weight  option and enter the required value for your chosen output method as described  in Entering  the right media value for your output type.

Below is the visual link to what I am attempting to accomplish in case the above instructions are insuffiecient.
