Hi @bai_5ko,

I’m sorry to hear you’re facing issues opening your project after the last update. Let’s try to narrow down the problem.

Could you share a few details to help troubleshoot?

1. What version of InDesign and operating system are you using?

2. Does this issue happen with this file only or with other documents as well?

3. Where is the file stored-locally, on a remote server, cloud storage, or an external hard drive? If it’s not local, please try saving it locally and then attempt to open it.

4. What exactly happens when you try to open the file? Any error messages or unusual behavior?

Additionally, it would be helpful if you could share a screen recording of your workflow showing the issue. This will help us better understand what’s happening.

Looking forward to your response so we can assist further!

Best,
Abhishek Rao

Hello Abhishek,
1. Windows 10, last updated indesign version
2. I didn't notice the same issue with other documents for now.
3. The file is stored on the local hard drive
4. The file just wont open - no error messages, nothing. Start loading and just stop.
Kind regards!
Petko

Hi @bai_5ko,

Thank you for sharing the details! Based on the information you’ve provided, here are a few steps to try and resolve the issue:

1. Reset InDesign Preferences:

 - Close InDesign.

 - Press and hold Ctrl + Shift + Alt (Windows) immediately after launching InDesign.

 - When prompted, confirm resetting the preferences.

 - Once reset, try opening the file again.

2. Open the File as IDML (if possible):
If resetting preferences doesn’t work, try following the steps mentioned by our esteemed expert, @Robert at ID-Tasker, using the method detailed in this guide:
Blind Open and IDML Export Guide.

This process involves attempting to “blind open” the file and exporting it as an IDML file, which can often resolve file corruption issues.

3. Save the File with a New Name:

 - Right-click the file, select Copy, and paste it in the same folder with a new name.

 - Try opening this renamed copy.

4. If the issue persists, create a new Windows user profile and try opening the file there. This can rule out profile-specific conflicts. Reference: https://adobe.ly/41YJnvs

Let us know how these steps go! If the issue continues, please share additional details (such as a screen recording of your workflow) to help us investigate further.

Looking forward to your updates!

Best,
Abhishek Rao
