InDesign Workflow Disruptions After Recent Updates Including Unexpected Text Highlighting and Undo Issues

NOT THAT ANYONE CARES — I know Adobe is moving fast with AI, etc. but all the new changes to InDesign in particular are totally slowing my process. Text is suddenly highlighted that never was before, command + z doesn’t always work, etc. And worst of all, Pantone Connect is useless. I’m old school. Was nearly a first-user on Macs in the ‘80s — my first was that little beige box with a B&W screen! I spend tons of time trying to figure out what to call the new issues and then search for the answers! Same with Acrobat describing what images are so that I can’t read the client comments hidden under the pop-ups. Maddening!!!

I fixed it. Busy and can ‘t recall what I did. Something in preferences.

    A screenshot would be helpful.
If it is blue behind the text it indicates a Style over-ride. If you don’t want it you can turn the feature off via the fly-out menu in the Paragraph Styles panel.

What are your InDesign and macOS version? There were some complaints about undo, but not about text highlighting.

And worst of all, Pantone Connect is useless.

There are some options to replace Pantone Connect. I think there are some custom Pantone libraries — I'm sure others more familiar with the topic will chime in.
