I have been having the same problem for a while now. When starting Indesing it would launch normaly and freeze complerely afterwards I have managed to solve this by deleting the recovery files folder but that solution seems to not be working anymore.
Can someone help fix this?
Thanks!

Hi @alejandron72440789,

I hope the suggestions from the experts helped get things working again. Just checking if you were able to try resetting preferences or checking your font manager and third-party plugins?

If you're still experiencing the issue, could you please share which version of InDesign and operating system you're using and whether you've noticed any patterns? Also, let me know if you've already tried a full reinstall with the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. Reference: https://adobe.ly/4497NTs

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

I've the same query as @leo.r and @Dirk Becker regarding system and font managers or other 3rd party apps / plugins you might have? Magnet has caused issues - WebRoot is another etc.

Try resetting your preferences:
InDesign 19.3 and newer go to Preferences > General > and click on "Reset Preferences on Quit" and then quit and restart.

Or
Windows: Start InDesign, and then press Shift+Ctrl+Alt. Click Yes when asked if you want to delete preference files.
macOS: While pressing Shift+Option+Command+Control, start InDesign. Click Yes when asked if you want to delete preference files.
A dialog will appear asking to delete the InDesign Preferences, select 'Yes' on this dialog.

Reinstalling rarely fixes everything - you can do a complete reinstall using the
Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

Shot in the dark: Disable your font manager and remove all Type1 fonts.

I've moved this from the Using the Community forum (which is the forum for issues using the forums) to the InDesign forum so that proper help can be offered.
