Question

Inserting batch of pictures

Hi

I have a 2 column Indd file, and I need to insert 226 pictures in succession into the document, while changing the picture size. Is there a tool/process that can automate this process - doing it manually is simply tiring.

Thank you

Avi

@Avi_Israel

Can you share a sample screenshot?

Do you already have the names of the files?

Do you want to place them in a particular order?

Or do you want to just import all images from a folder on your drive?

Do you want to place those images in text - as Anchored/InLined - or directly on Page?

Tool for that is already available - but PC only and not free - but I can give you access to the full version for free for a few days.

hi

Sorry - adding the INDD file and sample pictures.

I have the files in 1 folder.

The file names are numbered in sequential order and I want them inserted in that order.

It doesn't matter if they are inserted or linked, provided I can resize them to fit the the column.

How much is the tool?

Thank you

Avi

Image Catalog script provided with InDesign should be enough.

One more idea... you can load multiple images at one time using File > Place and selecting multiple images. Once loaded, your can click to place the image at the original size, or drag to control the size (or use gridify to place a grid of pics on a single page).

Another suggestion: use the ImageCatalog script that you would select 2 colums and desired number of rows, and then images within a folder will be placed accordingly.

Maybe.

DataMerge can place multiple images on a page if your merge template is set up correctly. A lot more information, and some screen shots will get you much better advice.
