Integrate InDesign into Adobe CC PLEASE. It’s such a pain and frankly unbelievable that it isn’t already by now

Trying to work with InDesign is such a pain. Not because the program is bad. Because it is severely disregarded and needs to be updated for integration with CC. The files are large and lengthy more often than not and Adobe is already killing my computer which seems to ONLY affect InDesign. Please give InDesign some attention. It needs your help and so do we

As already asked, can you explain as InDesign is pretty well integrated with ease of use of CC Libraries and Fonts as well as using Illustrator and PhotoShop for editing of placed files.

Can you please elaborate on this further? What’s your computer model, operating system version, how much RAM and free disk space do you have? What kind of killing of the computer do you specifically experience and how is this tied to InDesign?

Hi @BPettinaro , A few things to check—make sure you are Placing, and not Pasting or Embedding images. Link Info Status should be OK, not Embedded:

Also, unless you need file page previews, turn of, or minimize, Always Save Preview Images in File Handling Prefs

And unless you are about to send a job to press turn off Preflight—Windows>Output>Preflight

And see this trouble shooting post by Mike Witherell:
