Invalid Entry Warning meaning?

I am trying to zoom in on a InDesign document.  I have the zoom tool selected then get "Invalid Entry" Warning.   What does this mean I am doing.  I have to hit the window which then goes away.  But if I try to do the same thing, a simple zoom, there is the warning again.   Is this explained anywhere, I tried to search help, even Google but nothing comes up.  Help.
