What could be the answer to why the text in a textbox is invisible when it is lying on top of an image? They are both placed on the same layer and the picture is sent to back and the textbox to the front.

Try this, Object > Text Frame Options, tick Ignore Text Frame.

If Derek's Ignore Text Frame solution doesn't work, make sure there isn't a Blending Mode applied to the text frame or its text—with the text frame selected check the Effects panel. Some Blend Modes could hide the text depending on the text color and its background (i.e., white text over an image set to Multiply or Darken would not be visible).

    Hi,

Please can you also add a screenshot of the layers panel with the text frame selected?

When placed "Not" over the image, is the text visible?
