Is conditional formatting possible in InDesign Tables?

I have lots of data heavy excel documents that use conditional formatting to automatically colour a cell depending on the value of its contents.

IE- Green for 0-50, white for 51-150 Red for over 150.

I am copy this data into a design doc in InDesign. Is it possible to apply the same conditional formatting so I don't have to go and colour all the cells by hand?

Thanks!

Danielle

Correct answer Steve Werner

InDesign has a Conditional Text feature which lets you choose which text appears in a particular version of the file.

But InDesign has no native ability to conditionally apply formatting to a table cell depending on the value of the contents.

It's possible that could be scripted, although you might have to pay someone to write a script. You might inquire in the InDesign Scripting forum:

Hey Steve,

Okay thanks, I will get on to the scripting forum and speak to my digital team to see if we can crack it.
