Question

Is is it possible to have 2 columns assigned for footnotes?

Hi

I have a book with ~6000 footnotes that are short in general, so the client wants the layout to have 1 box for the body and 2 columns or boxes for the footnotes to reduce the pages of the book, is this possible? I'll put an image to make it clear.

Hi @AK09M ,

not out of the box with InDesign's own features.

You could fake it using endnotes instead of footnotes with a lot of manual work.

Endnote texts are running in their own story, threaded text frames, that could be moved to the bottom of the page.

Maintaining correct position is tedious work when the body text must reflow.

Or you could use a paid script like Footwork written by Timothy Ariel Walden:
