Question

Is is possible to move a layer from one document to another in InDesign

I am working on a brochure which will be printed in six languages. I have a base layer where all color pictures and illustrations reside, and then a layer for each language containing only black text. The idea being that we print a "blanks" edition featuring only the color illustrations and fields, and then print the different languages in black only. My problem is that I have not been consistent in this approach. On one language, Icelandic, I have copied the color base layer, then put the black text on a separate layer. As things go the original base layer has been modified and now the Icelandic version will not quite match. So my question is, is it possible to copy the entire text layer, 64 pages, and paste it in my original file.

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. Just wanted to check if suggestion given by Bill helped you. If it did, I'd request marking his answer correct. This will help other users as well.

If it didn't, you may share the steps where you had issues, and we'll be happy to look into it.

Looking forward to your response.
