In the InDesign preferences go to Clipboard handling

 

Choose the option for All information - as shown here 

The table is pasted directly as a table

If you choose the bottom option it is imported as plain text as shown below.

Possible, but not recommended.

Better to File > Place. And also better to pre-plan and pre-build a set of cell styles along with a table style to coordinate them. A table can either be dressed with the style while placing; or after placing.
