Question

is there a keyboard shortcut for making page to go back to default size and position?

Hi there,

I keep needing to zoom in to fix some little detail somewhere on one of my 300 pages. Then when I want to go back to my default spread size (94%, as it so happens, so that both pages in each spread, and my tools, fit nicely on my display) AND go back to my default spread position (such that I have the same amount of space to the sides, and above and below my spreads), I have to enter 94% in the page size field at the bottom left, which is easy, but then it's quite fiddly to properly position the spread again.

I know there are so many shortcuts for InDesign. Is there a shortcut to making the page(s)/spreads go back to a default position on the screen?

Thanks for any advice,

Malcolm

Ctrl-0 for page zoom; Ctrl-Alt-0 for spread zoom. You can also customize the zoom to normal size with an adjustable factor, but that needs a script; search topics for the last few weeks and you should find it.

Something else I recommend is mapping PgUp/PgDn to the Prev/Next Spread functions, as I find partial page shifts to be completely useless.

Hi James,

Thank you so much for your replies. Scripts are beyond me, I'm afraid, and I couldn't find the thread anyway. But regarding your last suggestion re mapping the PgUp and PgDown to Prev/Next Spread—that is indeed something I did a couple years ago, and it's been a real blessing.
