Question

Is there a script that can count 'How many points are used in an entire document and/or how many are used by placed graphics'?

My company is having issues with artwork being used in it's creative that contains extremely high points counts.  This causes issues downstream and we want to be proactive rather than reactive.

What sort of artwork? Placed Illustrator files?

Both .ai and .eps files that are made up of vectors.  Also to include vector based objects that are created within InDesign.

Objects created in InDesign are not a problem. For AI files, the script

would need to open them one at a time in AI and do the counting there.

For the EPS files -- if they're openable in Illustrator then it may be

possible, depends on the file.

So it may be doable.
