Is there a trick method making object states for interactive PDF

Hi community.

I know the object states work when the PDF is viewed in Epub, next object state, previous object state buttons.

But is there a method to make an object style for images to recycle back and forth, just to be viewed as a PDF file, if the Epub isnt available?

Thank you.

Not sure what you meant by “when the PDF is viewed in Epub”. Do you mean when the InDesign file is exported as an Epub? That is not a PDF.

As to your question, MSO are not supported in PDFs, interactive or otherwise.

I was wondering if there was any workaround, scripting method, or alternative interactive approach that could simulate similar image state behaviour inside an Interactive PDF export, even though MSOs themselves are not officially supported in PDF format.

Such interactive behaviour couldn't work in devices like tablets and smartphones.
