Is there a way I can customize indesign to make changes to a large body of content faster and easier when Im looking for certain words or correcting acronyms?

InDesign has very powerful Find/Change features. And within Find/Change, you can use Grep expressions which may be helpful you to customize your searching/replacing. However, there is a learning curve.
