Is there a way to create a master TOC and chapter TOC showing almost the same information?

Is there a way to create a master TOC for the top of the document showing both chapter headings and subheadings, and create separate chapter TOC's which shows just the subchapters within that chapter?

Hi @curious_architect and welcome to the InDesign forum.

Yes, you can as long as you are using a book (and not working within a single InDesign file). In that environment, create a separate file for the book TOC, and then add the mini-TOCs in the individual chapters. (Note that the mini-TOC needs to be its own story and not threaded in with the chapter story.
