Is there a way to have the number of pages automatically update?

I have documents with “Page A of #” on the Parent page.  If I add a page to the document, I currently need to manually change the Parent Page.  Is there a way to automatically update the number of pages - the “of #” - when a new page is added to the document?

If it is a single document, you can use the last page variable. If in a book file (multiple documents), you can create a unique paragraph style on the last page and create a cross reference to it.

Yes, that did it.  My files are single documents.

Type > Text Variable > Define, then click “New” and enter/select appropriate data.  I had never gone into that option before.  Thank you!!
