is there a way to link stories between documents

Hello

I have a book comprised of different documents:

Cover page

TOC

Exec Summary

Solution X

Solution Y

Conclusion

Now what I wish to accomplish is in the 'TOC' document to have a textbox/story called 'Featured Content' that links to 'Solution X' document.

I thought I'd be able to use story jumps, but then I couldn't figure a way to use story jumps between documents.

I was wondering what feature/functionality can I use to use story jumps between documents in a book in InDesign

    Hi,

You can not thread text frames across documents.

Well, I was trying out diff options, and I figured I could accomplish this by simple cross-referencing between documents in a book.

Yes that's one of the way. The other one being hyperlinks.

Also, does place and link help you with what you are trying to achieve?Use linked content features in InDesign

    Hi,

What is the final output format?

By story jumps across documents do you mean hyperlink across documents? If the export format is pdf and you turn on Hyperlinks while exporting the book, then on clicking a title in the TOC it will navigate you to the appropriate page of the book.

yes Aman... I could navigate via TOC... but I wanted to have a featured content section, which would also navigate to certain sections.

Well, I was trying out diff options, and I figured I could accomplish this by simple cross-referencing between documents in a book.

But I was wondering if I could also thread text boxes betn docs... sthg like in the foll link, which works within a document:
