Question

Is there a way to open multiple documents under 1 tab?

Is there a way to open multiple documents under 1 tab? I am not looking to combine tabs or create a book. For context, I place text ads onto a template. Some papers have over 100 ads and having to copy, close, and paste them onto the template becomes very tedious. Please help! This would save a lot of time!

Each of the ads in the screenshot are documents I have to copy and paste onto the template.

As @Dave Creamer of IDEAS suggested - if you could offload "mapping" your ads as an database to someone:

FileName, PosX, PosY

then with a right tool you could save a lot of time...

The text in the 3rd column is a mockup / raw version ?

The mentioned PosX, PosY can be a column, row number, that will be automatically recalculated by the tool - so no need to specify exact in/mm/etc. values.

You could try using an InDesign Library or the CC Library to store and retrieve them.

Without more details, it looks like a good job for database publishing, but that would take some setup work.

Hi Dave! Thank you! I'll try that.

Tabs are strictly one-document only. But you can have two tabs (documents) open and visible next to (or one above) the other. Go to Window  > Arrange and select an arrangement.

Thank you for your response, Peter. However, I do need my documents in one tab in order to be more efficient. The ads need to be placed on a template.
