Question

Is there a way to search in last-searched folder?

I have a bunch of images I’m placing, and doing so by entering file names.

When I search, InDesign ignores my OS settings (Mac) and searches my whole drive.

Not a huge deal because I’m working from a files that are found easily, but is there a way to limit the search to the last folder from which something was places, perhaps unless otherwise navigated?

thanks

Just in case, it’s a macOS bug. Was discussed on this forum before:

If you wish, you can submit this bug to Apple:

Hi @turner111 , I’m not sure if this helps, but an alternative is to drag and drop from Bridge, which has its own search methods. In Bridge I setup a workspace for drag and drop:

Hey Rob - thanks - I may take a look at that, if it lets us restrict search to specific folders.
