Question

Is there a way to use a REALLY LONG URL in a hyperlink using any of Adobe's products?

Greetings,

I would like to create a PDF that includes hyperlinks with a HUGE parameter value, such that the length of the URL could exceed 100,000 characters (UTF-8).  I can do this using HTML, but I want to do it in a PDF document.  So far, I have tried using Acrobat to create a PDF document from a web page that works as I would like (and the URL parameter clips at around 2K characters), as well as using InDesign to create a hyperlink with a very long URL (but the URL parameter still clips at around 16K characters).  Is there a way to have an even larger URL size limit?  Perhaps a setting somewhere or another, more advanced product?

Please note: using a link shortener is not an option.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

A question like that begs another question: Why?

It's possible to insert HTML into an InDesign document.

InDesign > Object > Insert HTML...

Could this help?

Do you have to create a PDF? There are other publish options within InDesign such as exporting out an ePub or using the Publish Online feature.
