Question

Is there any way to recover or open a corrupted cloud document? I can see the exact version I need in version history, but when I try to restore it, the process freezes and nothing happens

I tried opening with Shift, restoring version history, relinking/removing images, placing into a new document

    Hi @taboada.romi,

Thanks for reaching out, and I’m sorry you’re experiencing this. I hope the suggestion from the expert helped. If not, could you please confirm the version of Adobe InDesign you’re using along with your OS details, and also let me know if you’re able to open the document in any way?

In the meantime, please try signing in to Creative Cloud on the web and check if the file is present there and opens correctly: https://www.adobe.com/files/?locale=en. If it does, try duplicating the cloud document and then restore the required version on the duplicate. You can also download the file locally from Creative Cloud and try opening it as a local file in InDesign.

Additionally, please ensure that Creative Cloud sync has fully completed, and try signing out and then signing back in to refresh the connection.

If the issue persists, a short screen recording showing the complete workflow and where it freezes would really help us investigate further.

    Looking forward to your update.

The version is 21.3 and my OS  is Windows 11. I can´t open the document at all, it just freezes the entire program.
I would really appreciate it if you could help me solve this.

    Hi @taboada.romi,

Sorry for the delay, and thanks for sharing the details.

Could you please share a short screen recording demonstrating the issue in action?

Also, please open your file here: https://www.adobe.com/files/?locale=en, click the three dots next to the document, choose Share, set access to “Anyone with the link” and permission to “Can edit,” then copy and share the link here. If the file is confidential, feel free to share it via DM on the community instead.

I’ll look forward to the file link so we can take this forward for further investigation.

If you can relink/remove images - suggests you can open it… any possibilty to work on it locally save it there and then reupload? I’m not familiar with cloud workflows, but worth a shot maybe.
