Is this part of the Sonoma incompatibility or something else?

I'm seeing screen re-draw issues and wondering if this an issue with InDesign 2024 (v19.1) and Sonoma (v14.1.2), or is it a physical GPU issue. I'm running a brand new Mac Studio M2. 

 

I've been running InDesign on Sonoma since I got this computer in July with no issues other than some slowness and this occassional screen re-draw issue.

 

The black on the page suddenly appeared, and then disappeared as I scrolled around, behaving similarly to when a graphics card starts going bad. I have an appointment with the Apple Store tomorrow to investigate, but today I read that there are issues with InDesign and Sonoma, so I don't know if I should bother with the Apple Store appointment or not.

    That looks more like a GPU Performance issue but if you turn it off you may be faced with the white screen bug. If that's the case turn off the rulers in InDesign and keep an eye open for Sonoma 14.3.

    I have the same problem, running M2 and Sonoma 14.6.1 on a MacBook Pro with added monitor. It is extremely annoying, and I have not found any satisfiying solution.

    Just after I wrote the previous, I got message about Mac Sequoia 15.0. After that update InDesign is now working perfect again! 🙂

      Thanks Bob, GPU issue was my first thought, it wasn't until yesterday that I even knew that InDesign and Sonoma weren't compatible (though I wondered why it was slow). I'll take it in and let them have a look, just in case, and at least rule it out while it's still on warranty. 

       

      I'm loath to make any changes to InDesign since it's been working fine for the most part for me.

      You need to keep up. You're already behind on Sonoma update (current is 14.2). You're wasting your time taking that machine in. Turn off the rulers. You can always turn them back on.

      In the Preferences is there GPU setting - try toggling this to one setting or the other

      Try turning on/off the GPU Performance in the InDesign settings.

       

      The minimum requirements suggest it's not compatible

      For the record I get this from time to time with Monterey OS - Adobe InDesign 2022

      And turns out the USBc cable (or one of the cables) was not powerful enough for the external monitor.
      I swapped the cable for HDMI instead and it kinda works better. 

      But I don't believe this is the issue just something I tried. 

      I still get it from time to time.
      A swift reboot and relaunch InDesign seems to work for me too.
