Issue placing (can't see files in folders)

Question

Suddenly today in indesign when I go to place a file, I can't see any files within any folder. I know they are there, I can see them outside of indesign. I've been in the adobe help queue for over an hour 😞

Anyone know what could have happened or how it correct it?

Please tell us what operating system (exactly) you're running. Please tell us (exactly) what InDesign version you're using.

Have you tried restarting your computer? Have you installed anything new on your computer? Have you tried restoring your InDesign preferences as a troubleshooting step?
