Issue with documents built using facing pages but require bleed on all four sides for printing

I've worked in the printing industry for a long time and have run up against many people who build documents in facing pages, but then want the document bound using wire coil.

The issue is that the document get's produced at the presses as individual pages and requires bleed of the images or artwork that come all the way to the inside margin to ensure trimming is done without white edges.

When a document is built in spreads and we send down a single page pdf to our imposition rips, the inside margins pick up the images from the previous page and show them in the bleed area.  We need to remove these so that when we trim there is now sign of what is on the adjacent page...     Rather what we require is that the image that runs to the inside margin needs to bleed itself and not show the previous adjacent page items that also come to the inside margin.

I understand why people design this way, I like to do it to...   but it would be great if InDesign had the functionality of building and showing pages in a facing pages format, but with the ability to allow images to bleed into a bleed area that would only show up when printing as single pages and not be seen while designing or be able to toggle between a view where there is an actual space between the facing pages so people could add the bleed we need at production.

or is there a way i don't know about to do this?
