Issue with Paragraph and Character Style Menus

I am having some visibility with my paragraph and character style menus. When I open up either menu, there are no icons at the bottom and no ability to scroll through my styles. There is also a large blank gap between the top of the menu and the first style (it takes up about half of the window). This problem showed up on Jan 27. 

I have tried reinstalling InDesign, adjusting the resolutions on my monitors. I have had other employees open up the file on their computer and they do not get this error. It has something to do with my version of the program, or my laptop itself. 

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any recommendations on the next steps that I should try?
