Question

Issues coying and pasting text from a page to another

Imagine you have a text box fitted to size, you see the text all good.

Now, when you copy and paste the box on another empty page the box appears empty with the red plus on the corner.

This happens every time I perform this operation.

Doesn't happen on the previous versions but only on my computer with the latest InDesign. It was also happening with the previous version (just updated last night and still happens).

It's very frustrating.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Check to see if there is something in the background that is causing text wrap. Another test of text wrap would be to go to the Object>Text Frame Options menu and turn on "Ignore Text Wrap" to see if the text reappears.

Hi! Thanks for the answers.
I tried with the Text frame options but doesn't seem to work. Still happens.

I attache 4 images for reference:

1 is the original file and 2 is the copied stuff, the font seems to revert to some sort of default.

3 is the original file and 4 is the copied stuff and the red plus issue.

Thanks for your help guys!

Have you checked the baseline grid parameters? If the text is locked on the baseline grid and if the increment is different in the 2 files, you can get this problem.

Is there some format on the text, like that the first paragraph must start on an odd or even page? Is there something on the target page with text wrap applied?
